A Loonie History

Loonie is a Clown from Calgary, Alberta - initially coming all the way from Loonieville, a magical kingdom of make-believe. In Loonieville (which is much smaller than Calgary), children of all ages can be anything they want to be, and can do anything they want to do. Encouraging participation, Loonie will dazzle the audience with magic, juggling, balloon sculpturing, story-telling, sing-a-longs and if you are lucky, you might see Loonie’s sidekick “Ding-A-Ling”. Loonie Toon’s claim to fame comes from a uniqueness to create her own stories, skits and songs. Loonie is very sensitive to the needs of all her clients, and strives to leave the audience with a message and a “big hug”.

LOONIE TOON is a loveable and delightful clown character with experience working with children for over forty years. Loonie welcomes the opportunity to laugh and play with children and adults of all ages.
Loonie has had a
Child Welfare Record Check as well as a Police Check enabling her to work with children.

A LOONIE TOON....

Loonie believes that everyone has the desire to sing a song. Unfortunately, many of us choose not to raise our voice in song because we have the belief that we cannot carry a "toon".
Loonie says we all have our own special "toon", and it is very important to give ourselves permission to use the gift we have and sing.

Singing is natural and healthy.
Singing is a way to express our emotions and thoughts.
It is good exercise.
It is fun.
It creates laughter.

It may surprise you, or not, to learn that Loonie sings in the key of "off". Loonie would like to challenge you to give yourself permission to sing, in your natural "toon". What a wonderful gift to give yourself.
